4-Month Regression
I recently worked with a 13-month-old who had never slept independently. His first-time parents alternated sleeping on a chair in his room to be nearby to pick him up, rock him, and hold him every time he woke up. By night 3, he was sleeping through the night and could fall back asleep quickly when he woke. Both parents learned to listen to and interpret his communication and respond appropriately. For example, every noise was not a cry, but they had been treating it like the baby was crying and rocking him. Once they learned to differentiate actual crying from simple noise (like babbling), they were able to respond calmly and appropriately, and the baby learned to sleep independently. By the end of two weeks, they were parenting confidently and calmly and their baby was sleeping through the night.
Toddler Transition
I worked with a 2.5 year old in a toddler bed who was diagnosed with Behavioral Insomnia in Children (BIC). Bedtime was full of endless demands for parents to be in her room all night, rub her back, and sleep on her floor. The child (and the parent) had difficulty regulating their nervous systems and the mom found consistency to be challenging. By the end of 2 weeks, the child was sleeping in her bed, staying in her bed all night, and both mom and child learned new ways to regulate their nervous systems, using multiple strategies to ensure a calm and connected bedtime. This was a challenging case for me as well, but as an educator, I was able to tap into my professional knowledge and experience of over 2 decades working with young children and give this mom strategies, skills and resources she can use now and in the future.

I truly can't say enough amazing things about Phyllis and our experience working with her. Before we started, we were dealing with inconsistent naps, frequent night wake-ups, and a baby who just couldn't settle on his own. Within such a short time, (2 weeks) everything completely changed. Phyllis helped get my 8-month-old on the BEST schedule of his life. Not only is he now napping consistently, but he has learned how to fully self-soothe and put himself to sleep independently for both naps and bedtime—something I honestly didn't think was possible. The biggest win of all? He is now sleeping through the night, every single night. No wake-ups, no struggles—just solid, restful sleep. It has been truly life-changing for our entire family. I'm so incredibly grateful for Phyllis. We could not believe the sleep transformation we achieved with Phyllis' coaching. Before we started, we were up every 2 hours and constantly feeding, rocking, consoling. I had to feed to sleep, there was no other way. I tried sleep plans I found online, but had so many questions and no support or confidence, they were all unsuccessful for me.
