Rebecca Stiglitz

I always ask my parents what they are wanting sleep to look like at the end of our time together and base our interactions around that. I know not every parent is willing to have tears, so that is a big part of our discussions. Parents need guidance and support and someone to direct their steps in regards to sleep. They need someone to tell them they are doing a good job in holding the boundary. We do a lot of talking the first few days that we are working together to make sure we are all on the same page and can get the results they are looking for.
My philosophy

When everyone is rested, the days go better. Let me help you teach your child to sleep.

4-Month Regression
2 year old, mom had to lie with her for 2+ hours every night and then she wouldn't sleep through the night. We started with holding her hand and bedtime and gradually moving out of the room. Mom was uncomfortable with a lot of tears. Over a few weeks, we were able to get her to fall asleep on her own and sleep through the night.
Toddler Transition
8 month old, mom was ready to give up the last overnight feedings. We worked to gradually reduce the time she nursed over 2 weeks. We went from 15, to 13, to 11, until they were no longer nursing. At that point we switched to check and console when he woke and was sleeping through the night by night 16.
